This is a very nice 2 BR unit. Very clean and comfortable with a nice view. The ski in/out aspect of the Aspens is fantastic. Our only complaint is that the owners put the cable TV box in the closet with no notification in the room information. Took us a while to figure that out since turning the unit on required pointing it at the closet. Remote batteries were dead as well.

We really enjoyed out stay at Aspens.The suite was very well appointed & very comfortable.Blackcomb staff were very helpful when we asked for a fan.The only suggestions we would have would be black out blinds in the bedrooms & an air conditioner in the 2nd bedroom.

Great accomodation and service. Superb location and had everything we could ask for. The apartment was clean and modern. Internet was fast and the hot tubs were greatly appreciated after a day on the mountain.

The property managers were very accommodating and helpful during our stay. Their communication was excellent from start to finish. The unit itself was basic but it had everything we needed and was comfortable. The pool and hot tubs were also great. We will definitely be back to stay at this resort!

Great unit overall - fairly basic kitchen which was fine as we ordered in for dinners, pillows are awful to sleep with, beds are quite comfortable however, living room furniture (couch and wing chair) super uncomfortable to try and hang out on. Great location and easy to enter door system meaning we never went to the front desk ever

Winter at Aspens

We stayed at Aspens for 2 weeks in January, unit 451. The unit has been nicely renovated (we loved the heated bathroom floors!). It is small but we loved the location so much that small is ok. Would be nice if the coat closet were heated to act as a drying space for wet ski gear and boots since the lounge room is so small and we had to put everything in front of the fire. We had to ask for a drying rack as the unit did not have one, but the office were happy to oblige. One main negative is the fireplace is SO HOT that our unit was unbearable. We could only turn it on for 1-2 hours before needing to open doors and let cold air inside. This made it hard to dry gear. We had the heating in the bedrooms off for our entire stay and had to sleep with windows open to stop from over heating (as the unit just did not cool down after turning off the fire). We set the thermostat on the fireplace as low as it would go (65F) but it continually ran about 20F above the setting (89F). The wall surrounding the fireplace is extremely hot to touch. I think it needs to be looked at, the thermostat may be faulty. The main complaint I have relates not to Unit 451 but to the management of the complex. There was a fire evacuation at 4am on our second last night. Not knowing if it were a fire or a false alarm and with fire alarms screaming and water coming out of the fire sprinklers, we made our way down the fire stairs and headed to reception for instructions. There was nobody responsible at reception to tell us what to do, where to go etc. There were no evacuation instructions inside the unit (or certainly not obvious to us). It was total chaos with hundreds of guests all congregating in the reception area. If it were a true fire, it would have been a very dangerous situation - so many people huddling in the main entrance to the building, restricting the access of the firemen who had to weave their way past everyone to assess what was going on. We didn't know whether to head to the slopes or the driveway/road and expected someone to be there on a loud speaker to instruct us. Many units were flooded as a result of the sprinklers and we then had to listen to loud dryers going for the remainder of our stay there. Nobody made contact with us to check on things, our kids were completely traumatised by the experience and we lost half a day of skiing the following day (our last day, sadly)due to sleep deprivation and assisting our friends whose unit was flooded and had to relocate. I'd like to suggest that fire evacuation plans are drawn up immediately and placed in the fire stairs as well as on the backs of all apartment doors. Aside from this negative experience, we loved the apartment, loved the location and would like to think we would stay there again (and be able to feel safer next time with regards to emergency responses). We loved our stay in room 451. Well appointed and cosy apartment. Plenty big enough for our family of 4. This is the second time we've booked with Blackcomb Peaks and we've had great service from them both times. Always friendly and prompt.
